Abstract: This research provides a comprehensive evaluation of aircraft leasing as a pivotal financial and logistical instrument for modern air traffic management. The paper examines the essence of aircraft leasing as a primary mechanism for fleet optimization, allo wing carriers to minimize heavy capital expenditures while maintaining high operational liquidity. A detailed comparative analysis is conducted between the two dominant leasing models: wet lease (ACMI) and dry lease. The author substantiates how these models directly influence the efficiency of air traffic organization by enhancing flight regularity and providing the necessary flexibility to adapt to volatile market demands and seasonal traffic peaks. The study emphasizes the strategic role of leasing in technical modernization, enabling airlines to integrate next-generation, fuel-efficient aircraft into their fleets more rapidly than through direct purchase. This transition is identified as a key factor in meeting the stringent environmental targets of ICAO and reducing the industry's overall carbon footprint. Furthermore, the research delves into the crisis-management potential of leasing, particularly how ACMI contracts act as operational stabilizers during unexpected aircraft-on-ground (AOG) situations or geopolitical disruptions, ensuring the continuity of the global air transport network. The author also addresses the regulatory complexities involved in dry lease operations, including compliance with EASA standards and Air Operator Certificate (AOC) requirements. The article concludes that aircraft leasing has evolved from a simple financing tool into a fundamental strategic component that ensures the operational resilience, safety, and sustainable growth of the aviation sector in an increasingly competitive global arena.
